As we move into the 2020 Holiday Season, the White Church restoration is about 80% complete.
Extensive, badly needed, carpentry work and painting on the steeple is complete. Special thanks to local artist, Jodi Simmons, for making possible the reconstruction and gilding of the building’s precious weathervane.
Rehabbing the building’s 30 windows is underway; four at a time are being removed and brought to a shop in Greenfield for total reconditioning, a process which should be complete by next summer. Interior plaster patching and painting will happen next Spring and Summer. With the outstanding work of our project’s prime contractor, Peter Hamm, all scheduled work should be complete in time for the building’s 200th Anniversary 2022 celebration!
